Tech Explorer

Tech Explorer Logo

Students learn STEM-related skills in a program called “Tech-Explorer” developed by Sierra College Center for Applied Competitive Technologies. In this program, participants build a working catapult from materials, drawings, and processes used in today’s advanced manufacturing. Each student will be actively engaged in the manufacturing process and gain hands-on experience using tools and equipment.

RCAM has developed the Sierra College Tech Explorer catapult project in a mobile outreach platform for regional middle and high school students. Utilizing industry volunteers, this engaging project-based learning activity allows students to experience the skills used in the 21st-century workforce. Download the technical drawing, or visit the Tech Explorer Catapult Integrated Curriculum Guide for useful resources and learning activities to support additional project-based learning.
