The Career Development Services Center is located at the Northeast State Kingsport location at 222 West Main Street, in the Regional Center for Applied Technology building. The Center offers a variety of free services to help you better understand your career interests, strengths, skills, and abilities.

- Learn the interviewing and resume writing skills necessary to secure the job that fits you best
Free Resources
- WorkKeys: A job skills assessment system that provides information about workplace skills and the levels required for employment
- Key Train: A comprehensive, easy-to-use system for improving the basic skills measured by the WorkKeys Job Skills Assessment System
- National Career Readiness Certificate: A portable certificate based on the WorkKeys assessments that confirms that an individual possesses the basic workplace skills required for 21st Century jobs
- CAREERSCOPE: An interest and aptitude assessment for career guidance
- O*NET Career Exploration Tools: Useful information that individuals can use to identify specific strengths and interests
- The Source: A tool developed by the Tennessee Department of Labor that assists both job seekers and employers in finding the right employment match
What Does the Future Hold?
Learn what type of employee skills and knowledge local businesses and industries are likely to need in the next 5, 10, or 15 years. We can share labor data and statistics that project the types of jobs that will be in great demand in the near future. We also can tell you about the skills and knowledge you will need to possess or obtain to be qualified for these jobs. We also maintain listings of available job openings.

We are fortunate to have many schools, colleges, and universities in the region that offer programs to help residents meet their training and educational goals. If you know what type of career you want, we can help you find the right place to obtain the training and education you need to prepare for that new career.
Financial Aid
Many people don't realize just how much financial aid is available. Some folks know about financial aid, but are frustrated or intimidated by the paperwork required to apply for this aid. If you would like assistance in locating aid and/or completing the application process for this aid, please let us help you.
Workshops
We offer a variety of workshops to assist you in preparing for your future. Topics include behavioral interviewing, resume writing, soft skills, job search techniques, and returning to work.
